(ABATE 38 annual event)...It was their 24th annual Turkey Run.

This year they began at the Walmart parking lot in El Centro Saturday morning. The event was not for just bikers. Cars and trucks were also welcome. Anyone who donated a turkey and $10. They were able to pick up 165 new turkays, that were added to those donated thru-out the year. The money went to charities that will be preparing Thanksgiving Day meals this year. All the trukeys were loaded in a truck and distributed around the county. The run ended with a turkey dinner for the participants at St.Mary's Parish Center. ABATE 38, which stands for American Brotherhood Aimed Toward Education, is already ready planning for their next event.
