The numbers indicate a decrease in September, as compared to the month before. The report includes the entire southern border. Total numbers of encounters were down by 9%. Encounters of unaccompanied children saw a 24% decrease. Narcotics seizures nationwide were down 23 % in September as compared to August. For the entire fiscal year 2021, pedestrian encounters came in at 26.1 million. That is down from the 35.3 million encountered in fiscal year 2020.
