Border Patrol agents say the man drove a Chevy pick-up into the Highway 86 Checkpoint. A Border Patrol Canine Detection Team alerted to furniture in the bed of the pick-up. The vehicle was sent to the secondary inspection area. Agents searched the furniture and found several cellophane wrapped packages. The packages contained just over 74 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated value of over $203,000. The driver, a legal permanent resident of the United States, the vehicle and the narcotics were turned over too the Drug Enforcement Administration.
