The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is investigating two accidents reported on Sunday.

The first accident was reported at 12:28 p.m. at the intersection of Levee Road and Avenue D.  The initial investigation indicated that a car travelling southbound on Avenue D failed to yield the right-of-way to a pick up truck that was westbound on Levee Road. The driver and three passengers in the car were injured. The driver was later flown to a Phoenix area hospital for treatment. The driver and a passenger in the truck were not injured.

At 5:13 p.m. Sunday the driver of a Polaris RZR was unable to avoid hitting a bicycle rider in the 10-200 block of Fortuna Road. The bicyclist , 75-year old Ramon Alvarez-Cerrillos sustained fatal injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
