(Two Arrested Monday night)...They were arrested by Border Patrol agents.
It happened Monday night at the Highway 86 Checkpoint. The two were in a Lincoln Sedan that was referred to the secondary inspection area. A Border Patrol K-9 Detection Team Alerted to the vehicle. Agents searched the interior of the vehicle. They found a bundle wrapped in cellophane in the rear panel behind the drivers seat. The bundle contained a substance that tested positive for crystal methamphetamine and nine blue pills. The pills tested positive for fentanyl. The meth weighed 2 pounds and was valued at around $5,500. The pills were valued at around $225. The 55 year old male driver and the 31 year old female passenger were arrested. They, along with the vehicle and narcotics were turned over to the Imperial County Sheriff's Office.
