(Two Rescues within two hours)....The rescues occurred earlier this week.

Both rescues were in the Jacumba Wilderness region. Both were at night. At 9:55 pm Border Patrol was notified by the Calexico Police station. The Calexico Police had been notified a group of six had entered the US illegally in the Mountanous area near Ocotillo. A BORSTAR Team was called in, and within a half hour located the group almost 2 miles north of the Border. The group was lost, but none needed medical attention. The second incident was also reported at 9:55 pm. That report came from the El Centro Sector's Foreign Operations Branch. They had been advised two individuals crossed into the US illegally, and became lost. BORSTAR agents working the first incident were sent to search for the two missing. It took them almost two hours to locate the two. They were finally found, just 500 feet north of the Border Fence. They were not in need of medical attention and were taken to El Centro for processing. So Far this fiscal year, El Centro agents have rescued 348 individuals lost or in distress.
