(Illegal migrant caught trying to set fires)...It happened recently in the Jacumba Wilderness region.

Border Patrol agents responded to a reported fire. When they approached the area of the fire they found an individual in the vicinity. The individual appeared to be trying to start another fire. The agents tried to extinguish the fire, but with little success. They notified the Bureau of Land Management. The BLM sent in an airplane with firefighting capabilities.. They also sent a fire engine, a hand crew and a helicopter. They were able to control the fires. In the meantime, the Border Patrol agents took the suspected individual into custody. The individual was an 18 year old Mexican National who had entered the US illegally. He was taken to the El Centro Sector Processing Station, where he was interviewed by the BLM, who are investigating the fires as arson.
