(Hikers recently found a body)...It was found near where a 40 year old San Diego man was reported missing.

Derek Barge was reported missing in July. Law Enforcement says the hikers found a body near Jacumba Hot Springs trail where Barge was last seen. Officials say the body has not been identified, and it is not known if it is actually the missing 40 year old. Detectives say a positive identification has proven difficult due t5o the state of the body. The San Diego Medical Examiner's Office says it may take some time to complete the identification process. Barge was staying at the De Anza Springs Resort, north of Interstate 8, when he was last seen. He was reported missing on July 31st. He was reportedly on his way to Arizona to visit family. Barge had called his mother on the night before he was reported missing. She was the last person he had contact with. His phone and charger were found near a trailhead southeast of the resort.
