(Collision on Mountain Grade)....It was reported at just after 10 Wednesday morning.

The California Highway Patrol says a tractor/trailer rig and a vehicle collided. Both vehicles were traveling east on Interstate 8 at Mountain Springs Road. Injuries were reported. The preliminary report indicates the first on sccene was US Border Patrol agents. The agents told the CHP they wanted to seize the vehicle. The Highway Patrol says it is believed the agents were following the vehicle, but no pursuit was underway. The vehicle was reportedly speeding and collided with the rig. The incident remains under investigation. The US Border Patrol has not issued any official statements.
