The north end of Imperial Valley rocked Wednesday afternoon.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey , a magnitude 4.0 earthquake was recorded at 2:45 p.m. with an epicenter between Brawley and Salton City. A second earthquake , magnitude 3.8 , was reported at 2:50 p.m. and the epicenter was the same area. There was no report of injury or damage from the two shakers.
