Three people are in custody for attempted Murder and Robbery.

At 7:00 a.m. Tuesday , Imperial Police officers , along with the Imperial County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team and the Imperial County Narcotics Task Force , served two search warrants , one at a home in the Savannah Ranch subdivision and one at a home in the Paseo del Sol subdivision. The warrants were served following the investigation of the attempted robbery of a cannabis delivery driver on July 29. Officers arrested 19-year old Damien Vargas and 44-year old Evangelina Vargas , both of Imperial. Damien Vargas was been booked into Imperial County Jail on charges of Attempted Murder , Attempted Robbery and Conspiracy. Evangelina Vargas was charged with being an Accessory to a Crime. A 17-year old juvenile was also take into custody and booked into the Imperial County Juvenile Facility charged with Attempted Murder , Attempted Robbery and Conspiracy. According to Imperial Chief of Police Leonard Barra the investigation is continuing.
