(Citizens to the rescue)....Two residents come to the rescue.
One was an off-duty Border Patrol agent. The agent, Roy Rosas, and a private citizen Sunday witnessed a man attempting to car-jack a vehicle in Westmorland. The two jumped into action and confronted the 24 year old suspect as he was attempted to take a vehicle driven by a local church pastor. A scuffle ensued and the two were able to remove the suspect from the vehicle. They called the Westmorland police and stayed with the suspect until officers arrived. The suspect had suffered minor injuries in the scuffle. He was taken to the hospital for treatment before being booked into County Jail. In commending the heroic act, El Centro Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gregory Bovine said agent Rosas actions brought great credit upon himself and the US Border Patrol.
