(More rescues by El Centro Border Patrol)...8 people were rescued in two incidents.

The first incident was reported Thursday afternoon. Agents were notified a group of 4 who had crossed into the US illegally, were in distress. BORSTAR also responded to the call. A few minutes after being dispatched, agents found a group of individuals about 3 miles north of the international border and north of Highway 98. All four were checked and it was determined one needed additional medical treatment for dehydration, Emergency Medical Services was called to the location. The individual responded to treatment from Ocotillo Fire and BORSTAR. The 4, all Mexican Nationals, were transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center. The 2nd incident was reported early Friday morning. The California Highway Patrol reported another group of four who had entered the US illegally and were without water, lost and in distress in the mountains. Agents in the area were notified. A Department of Defense US Army BlackHawk helicopter also joined the search. Using the last known GPS coordinates. The group, all Mexican Nationals, were located about a half mile north of the International Border. It bwas determined none of the four was in need of medical attention. They were all transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center.
