Passing thunderstorms and winds created problems Thursday afternoon.

The thunderstorms brought about flooding in some areas near Salton City and caused several power disruptions. According to the Imperial Irrigation District , there were power outages in Calexico , Ocotillo and the Salton City area. An estimated 1,000 IID customers were affected by the outages. IID crews worked into the night to restore power.
