(Border Patrol Agents arrest gang member)...It happened Thursday morning.

At around 7:30 am agents apprehended an unbdocumented individual in the desert region east of Calexico. They transported the individual to the El Centro Processing Center. A records check identified the individual as 35 year old Juan Melgarejo Herrera, a Mexican National. It also revealed the man was a member of the Paisa gang with an extensive criminal and immigration history. Before being deported in 2008, the man had been convicted of possession with intent to distribute. He is being processed for possible prosecution.
