The Imperial Irrigation District has issued a Conserve Alert.

Due to the extreme temperatures and an anticipated increased demand for electricity , the IID is asking consumers to remain cool while voluntarily conserving energy. Things that will help conserve energy include avoiding the use of major appliances between peak hours of 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. , set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher , and turn off unnecessary lights and appliances. The extreme high temperatures are expected to last through Sunday.
