A traffic accident early Thursday morning took the life of a 20-year old Yuma woman.

The three-car accident was reported at 5:52 a.m. in the area of Avenue B and County 20th Street. A northbound Chevy Malibu and attempted to pass a Dodge Caliber but collided with the driver's door when attempting to merge back into the northbound lane. The Caliber ran off the roadway and struck a tree. The Malibu then collided head on with a southbound Ford F-250. The driver of the Malibu , 20-year old Ciri Rosas , died as the result of injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the Caliber sustained minor injuries while the driver of the F-250 and his two passengers were taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center for various injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
