A U.S. Border Patrol K-9 team found nearly 64 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a small SUV.

Friday morning the SUV entered the Highway 86 checkpoint near Salton City and a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to the rear of the vehicle. During secondary inspection agents found a large bundle wrapped in aluminum tape under a factory panel in the cargo area. The contents of the bundle tested positive for methamphetamine. A 26-year old woman , a U. S. citizen , was arrested and turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration. The meth has a value estimated at over $175,000.
