The California Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist.
The single vehicle accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday on eastbound Interstate 8 just west of Mt. Springs Road. The accident caused both lanes of the freeway to be shut down for over two hours. Few details are available as the CHP and Imperial County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
