The State of California has a new incentive program to boost vaccinations in the Golden State.

The " Vax for the Win " program is offering $116.5 million in incentives designed to motivate people to get vaccinated leading up to the June 15 date set for the state's reopening. According to the Governor's office , all Californians aged 12+ who are at least partially vaccinated are automatically eligible for cash prize drawings. Thirty winners in total will be selected for the cash prize drawings taking place on June 4 and June 11 , that totals $1.5 million. On June 15 , $1.5 million will be awarded to 10 lucky Californians. An additional $100 million in $50 prepaid or grocery cards will be awarded to the next 2 million newly vaccinated people in the state. 

More than 62.8% of Californians aged 12+ are at least partially vaccinated , but an estimated 12 million people who are eligible still have not gotten a vaccine. In Imperial County more than 150,000 doses of the vaccine have been administered with 34.3 percent fully vaccinated and 44.6 percent partially vaccinated.
