The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Sunday morning. 

According to the Sheriff's Office , they responded to a report of a car in a canal in the area of the 4700 block of East County 2nd Street. On arrival deputies located a Honda Accord submerged in the canal and a short time later located the body of 52-year old Jaime Rodriguez of Roll , Arizona about a mile downstream from the car. Initial investigation indicates that Rodriguez was apparently westbound on the canal bank when he lost control of the car and it plunged into the canal. The accident remains under investigation.
