A woman was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents attempting to smuggle meth.

The incident occurred Saturday morning at the Highway 86 checkpoint near Salton City. An SUV approached the checkpoint and a Border Patrol canine team alerted to the vehicle. During an inspection agents discovered nearly 68 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the rocker panels of the SUV. The driver , a 24-year old woman , a U. S. citizen , was arrested and turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration. The meth has a street value of over $185,000.
