Border Patrol agents arrested a 37-year old man after finding over $370,000 worth of drugs in his truck.
The man , a citizen of Mexico , was driving a semi-tractor trailer rig when he approached the Highway 86 checkpoint near Salton City. A canine team alerted to the big rig and a search uncovered drugs hidden in trash bags found in the sleeper area of the cab. There was nearly 7 pounds of fentanyl and just under 100 pounds of methamphetamine. The total value of the drugs was estimated to be over $370,000. The driver was turned over to the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
