It is the 68th Annual Farm Bureau Scholarship Barbecue. Each year, the Imperial County Farm Bureau presents local students with scholarships from four different scholarship funds; Matthew LaBrucheries, Raul Rodriguez Memorial, Jack and Pauline McConnell Memorial, and Imperial County Farm Bureau Scholarships. The longest-standing of thse funds, the Imperial County Farm Bureau Scholarsip, is supported each year by the annual barbecue. While the event will look a little different, this year's fundraiser will be held on Friday April 30th, from 5 to 7 pm at the Imperial Valley Food Bank. Due to permitting requirements with the County, the event will shift to a Drive-Thru service. They will be serving tri-tip. In order to properly plan for the event, they are limiting it to 250 tickets. Each ticket will include a family dinner for four, and something extra, for $50. The Farm Bureau is also accepting sponsorships from businesses and individuals. All net proceeds from the barbecue will be disbursed as scholarships.
