U. S. Border Patrol agents rescued 8 illegal immigrants hidden in a refrigerated trailer.

The incident occurred at about 1:20 a.m. Friday at the Highway 86 checkpoint near Salton City. A tractor trailer rig stopped at the checkpoint and when agents inspected the refrigerated trailer they discovered 8 illegal aliens laying down in the 45 degree reefer. The driver , a 40-year old U. S. citizen , was arrested. The passengers included three adult women , and four adult men , all from Mexico , and an adult man who is a Chinese national.
