El Centro Animal Control is investigating the circumstances of a cat that was burned.

The cat was found in the middle of an apartment complex with extensive burns. The cat appeared to have been hiding in the complex laundry room. The Animal Control Officer took the feline to a local veterinarian who had to euthanize the cat. According to the vet it appeared that the cat had been burned several days earlier. This is at least the second incidence in El Centro involving what appears to be someone burning a cat. Both incidents remain under investigation.
