Brawley Police have made two arrests in connection with a murder discovered Sunday , February 7 , 2021.

According to Brawley Police , officers made contact with a vehicle Sunday night at about 11:00 p.m. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot and was taken into custody following a short pursuit. The driver was identified as Miguel Romero , 35 , of National City. An unidentified passenger also fled on foot and managed to elude capture. When they began processing the vehicle , officers found a dead body inside. The deceased person was later identified as 23-year old Daniella Gonzales of Brawley. As the investigation continued , Brawley Police arrested Romero and 32-year old Irma Magana of Brawley. Both were booked at Imperial County Jail on murder charges. According to Brawley Police the investigation into the crime is continuing and asked that anyone with information contact the Brawley Police Investigations Division.
