(Two Seizures at the Downtown Port)....Thy were both over the weekend.
The first seizure occurred after an 18 year old drove a 2005 Nissan into the port. The vehicle was sent to the secondary inspection area, where it went through the x-ray imaging system. Customs and Border Protection officers noticed anomalies in the vehicles doors, seats and rear quarter panels. The vehicle was searched and officers found 194 packages of methamphetamine. About an hour later a 33 year old drove a 2019 Toyota up to the port. A k-9 detection team alerted to the vehicle and it was sent to the secondary inspection area. A screening of the vehicle detected anomalies in the vehicle. An inspection resulted in the discovery of 57 packages of methamphetamine. The combined estimated value of the two seizures was $1.2 million
