The State of California has changed the eligibility guidelines for the COVID-19 vaccine.
State officials announced Monday that the current plan to vaccinate first responders hasn't changed but there will be a change in the plan as to who gets the vaccine next. Under the plan announced Monday , the next priority would be people over the age of 65. The original Tier 2 plan had called for workers in manufacturing , transportation and incarcerated individual to be vaccinated. Individuals 65+ are expected to be able to make on-line appointments for the vaccine by mid-February according to the Governor's Office. Governor Newsom released no other details about the shift in priorities. California , like all the other states , is struggling with acquiring enough vaccine to meet their needs.
