(MLK Jr. Day)...The Civil Rights Leader was honored across the nation.

The National Holiday was to recognize Martine Luther King Jr's birthday. Because of the COVID 19 pandemic ceremonies across the nation were virtual. Imperial County was no exception. The MLK Committee held their annual march  and re-enactment of the I Had A Dream speech on Saturday. They were assisted by the local Black Lives Matter supporters, who marched from the Martin Luther King Jr. Sports Pavilion in El Centro to the County Courthouse. During the last leg of the march someone sprayed the group with an unknown substance. It was reported to the police, but the march continued. The annual tribute at the courthouse was video taped and shown on social media at noon Monday.
