According to Yuma Fire Department , at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday , they received a report of a fuel truck on fire on East Gila Ridge Road. Shortly after the initial report a follow up report was received that the truck had exploded and that there was an injured person. Arriving firefighters found a 6,000 gallon fuel truck burning near a bulk fuel tank. The fire was quickly contained before the bulk tanks could ignite. It was determined that the truck had been transferring fuel to a bulk tank when there was an explosion. The operator had been on top of the truck's tank when it blew up.
