(Fatal injury victim)....She died Monday evening.

The 35 year old homeless woman had been hit by a pickup at around 6:17 Monday evening. The County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Sarah Frances Kalada. The woman was apparently pushing a shopping cart across La Brucherie, near Euclid in El Centro when she was struck by the vehicle. Emergency personnel attempted to resuscitate the victim, but she died at the scene. The Coroner's Office says an autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death. El Centro Police conducted sobriety tests on the driver of the pickup. It was determined the driver was not under the influence and he was not arrested. The investigation into the incident continues.
