(New Years Holiday stats).....It was another relatively safe holiday.

The California Highway Patrol went into their Maximum Enforcement Period at just after 6:00 pm New Year's Eve. The MEP continued throughout the 4 day holiday weekend. The CHP says the results of the special holiday patrol period in dicate 2 DUI arrests and 3 collisions. One was a property damage only collision. One was a minor injury collision and one was a major injury collision. There were no fatalities over the four day period. The California Highway Patrol goes into Maximum Enforcement during most all holidays. During the MEP the CHP calls in all officers possible to patrol roadways in an attempt to keep motorists safe and minimize collisions.
