(CHP MEP results)….The California Highway Patrol releases Maximum Enforcement Period Stats.

The MEP is the California Highway Patrol's  Holiday patrol program. For the Christmas Holiday the CHP reports 5 DUI arrests and one property damage collision. And that is it. The Highway Patrol will go into their next Maximum Enforcement Period Thursday evening at 6:00 pm. The MEP will continue through Midnight Sunday night, covering the entire New Years Holiday weekend. Maximum Enforcement is when the Highway Patrol assigns as many officers as possible to patrol the roadways. The officers will be enforcing all traffic laws, but especially DUI's, seatbelt and other safety issues.
