California Governor Gavin Newsom has extended the Stay-at-Home Order for Imperial County and 10 other Southern California counties.

Monday saw another record high of new COVID-19 infections in a single day , 66,811 statewide. Officials with the state say that they expect another surge of infections in the coming weeks as people travelled or gathered for the Christmas holidays. Hospitals statewide report more than 20,000 COVID-19 positive patients. Imperial County has 192 coronavirus patients among the two local hospitals. 

The Stay-at-Home Order limits gatherings , allows take-out or delivery only from restaurants. shutters barber shops and beauty salons , sets limits on retail stores as well as allowing only outdoor religious services.
