An El Centro supermarket was evacuated after smoke and fire alarms sounded.  

El Centro Fire Department responded to Cardenas Market on North Imperial Avenue shortly after 5:00 p.m. Monday. Upon arrival firefighters found smoke and flames in the attic and roof area of the market. All El Centro Fire personnel and equipment responded and a second alarm was issued for assistance from Imperial County , Holtville and Imperial Fire Departments. Firefighters were able to get to the source of the flames but remained on scene to make sure that the fire was out completely. All customers and  employees were able to evacuate the store and there were no injuries reported.
