(CBP introduces new technology)...It is biometric facial comparison technology.

Customs and Biordr Protection has introduced the technology at select Ports of Entry. One of thos is the Andrade Port. It is used in the pedestrian crossing lanes. The technology will enhance the identity verification process for lawful entry into the United States. The CBP says they ar expanding a secure, touchless process for identity verificatiuon at select pedestrian lanes for travelers arriving into the US. They say use of the facial biometrics delivers an efficient, streamlined travel experience while adding an additional layer of security to prevent the fraudulent use of travel documents. When a pedestrian arrives at the port and is about to present their documents, a photo is taken of thir face and almost instantly compares that photo to the on used when the documents were obtained. Officers say the process takes only a few seconds and is 97 percent accurate.
