(Vaccinations in Mexico)....They are scheduled to start this month.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador says the COVID 19 Vaccines will be universal and they will be free and also voluntary. The President said recntly the vaccinations would begin before the end of December. He said he hoped the full population would be vaccinated by the end of 2021. Mexico has contracted with Pfizer for 34.4 million doses of the vaccine. 250,000 of those are expected to arrive around December 17. Officials in Mexico say the vaccinations in December will be for health workers. Starting in February those over 60 will recieve vaccinations. In April vaccines will be for those over 50 and in May the vaccinations will be for those over 40. Health officials say they wil;l be purchasing more vaccination doses from other providers, including 35 million from China. Mexico has reported 1,18 million confirmed infections with the new coronavirus and at least 110,074 deaths from COVID 19. They admit those figures are undercounts.
