Fire gutted an El Centro apartment Sunday.

El Centro Fire Department responded to the 800 block of El Centro Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday and almost immediately put out a second alarm foe assistance from Imperial County Fire. All occupants of the 4 unit complex were evacuated with one resident being transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
