As Imperial County ballots continue to be counted there was a change in one of the races.

In the contest for the third seat on the El Centro City Council , Edgard Garcia now leads Efrain Silva. The latest count shows Garcia with 5,131 votes and Silva with 5,098 votes. A count released Sunday by the Imperial County Elections Department had Silva with a 26 vote advantage. 
In another tight race , Helen Diaz Molina has a 31 vote lead over Claudette J. Miranda for a seat on the Heber Elementary School Board of Trustees. The lead was 77 votes in Sunday’s count.

the counting continues and is not expected to be certified until December 3, 2020. There was information provided as to how many votes remain to be tallied.
