A 24-year old Holtville man died in a traffic accident Saturday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol , the man was driving eastbound on Evan Hewes Highway just east of Mets Road when the vehicle drifted off the road and onto the dirt shoulder. According to the CHP the driver apparently over corrected and lost control. The vehicle overturned and the driver was partially ejected. He sustained fatal injuries. The identity of the driver was not released. The accident remains under investigation.
