(Jobless Rate is down)....But not by much.,

The latest numbers available are for October. They were released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. October unemployment came in at 18.8 percent. That is down from a revised 21.1 percent in September. The 18.8 percent is also below the year ago estimate of 19.5 percent. This compares to an unadjusted unemployment rate of 9 percent for the state and 6.6 percent for the nation during the same period. According to the latest numbers there were 13,000 eligible workers were unemployed in October, out of a labor force of 68,700. The Imperial County Jobless Rate is still the highest in California.
