The California Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that was reported Saturday afternoon.

The CHP received a report of an overturned vehicle on Highway 78 south of the Blythe checkpoint at about 4:46 p.m. Arriving officers were told the driver apparently got out of the wreck and left in another vehicle. At about 5:30 p.m. the wrecked vehicle was reported stolen in San Diego. The incident remains under investigation.
