U.S. Border Patrol agents in the El Centro Sector have seen an increase in narcotics seizures in the past 2 months compared to the same time period last fiscal year.
To date , the El Centro Sector has seen an 8per cent increase in fentanyl and an over 500 per cent in methamphetamine seizures. According to the Border Patrol , since the beginning of the fiscal year , nearly 500 pounds of meth with an estimated value of over $,145,000 has been taken off the streets. Over 29 pounds of fentanyl valued at more than $330,000 has been seized as well. Since Fiscal Year 2021 began on October 1st : over 38 pounds of cocaine. nearly 10 pounds of marijuana. And 114 ounces of heroin have been seized by El Centro Sector agents.
