The Imperial County Public Health Department updated their COVID-19 Dashboard Tuesday morning.
The number of active cases of the coronavirus jumped from 424 on Monday's report to 593 on Tuesday. The number of deaths attributed to the virus remained at 341. The positivity rate for those tested went up from 15.93% on Monday to 16.29% on Tuesday while the new cases per day per 100,000 population went from 21.77 on Monday to 24.37 on Tuesday's update. The jump in active cases seemingly coincides with the Halloween weekend 10 days ago. Imperial County remains in the purple , or most restrictive range of the State of California's metrics for reopening the economy. State-wide the majority of counties are experiencing an increase in COVID-19 cases and several have been dropped down to more restrictive mandates by the state. San Diego County for one has dropped back to the purple level and will have to close many establishments that were previously allowed to reopen with restrictions.
