(Mid-week holiday)...It is Veterans Day.

It is always celebrated on November 11. Most years Veterans Day is full of memorials, celebrations and commemorative events. This year is different. Because of the pandemic most all events have been canceled. There are still a couple events. The 8th Annual Walk for our Veterans will be held in the morning. It is hosted by the American Legion Post 60 in Brawley. Volunteers meet at the Post 509 G Street in Brawley. They are transported to a site in Westmorland, and then they all walk back to the American Legion Post. The walk starts at 7:30 am. Later in the Day, the American Legion Post in Holtville will host a caravan traveling thru the community. It will end at Holt Park for ceremonies and the Holtville Farmers Market, that begins at 5:00 pm. The County and the IID have said their Departmnts and agencies will be closed, as will most Banks and Federal, State and local government facilities.
