(Man arrested in El Centro)...He has been charged with attempted murder

. El Centro Police Sergeant John Seaman said officers were dispatched Wednesday at around mid-night to the 400 block of Commercial Avenue. There had been a report of a subject with a weapon trying to open the door to a residence. When officers arrived they found the victim, a 55 year old male who had sustained multiple stab wounds and a gunshot wound. A black colored truck was seen leaving the area. The victim was later flown to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. At around 25 minutes after midnight Thursday officers contacted a suspect, identified as 34 year old Jaime Ramirez from Chula Vista. Ramirez was subsequently taken into custody as a suspect in the assault. The suspect was booked into County Jail, charged with attempted murder. Sergeant Seaman says the investigation is on-going. He said anyone with information or may have witnessed the assault, are asked to contact El Centro Detective Adrian Chilpa.
