(Two Vehicle collision)...It occurred Monday night.

A 29 year old El Centro resident suffered fatal injuries. The collision involved a black Hyundai Elantra and a White Jeep Cherokee. The California Highway Patrol says the Elantra was heading west on Cloe Road. The Jeep was traveling south on Dogwood Road. As the Hyundai approached the intersection of Cole and Dogwood, the vehicle failed to stop and pulled directly into the path of the Jeep. The driver and sole occupant of the Elantra, 29 year old Jesus Abraham Ayala Hernandez of El Centro suffered fatal injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the Jeep, identified only as a 19 year old El Centro resident, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a Hospital for treatment. The Highway Patrol says both drivers appear to have been wearing their seatbelts. They say the collision remains under investigation.
