(Memorandum of Understanding)...It has been approved by the City of El Centro.
The MOU is with the County Sheriff's Office. It allows the City to use inmate labor within the city limits. The inmates will reportedly work with the El Centro Public Works Department and Parks and recreation. The crews will consist of 10 inmates, and they will work three days a week. An officer will be assigned to each crew. The inmate crews will be assigned to work in public areas with a low concentration of pedestrians. The MOU goes into effect at the first oif the new year.
