Bill Gay authored Unseen Body Blows. It is the story of the LST, a navy ship his father Alex had served on in World War 2. The work was submitted to the Military Writers Society of America during its 2020 awards. On September 19, Bill Gays birthday, it was announced his book had been presented a silver medal during the awards presentation. Bill Gay followed his father Alex and served in the US Navy. He is currently president of Reliance Public Relations and co-publisher of the magazine Imperial Valley Alive. After leaving the Navy Alex Gay had a career in adverstising and public relations and was a two term member of the El Cntro City Council. Alex Gay passed away in 1990.
